Orange Blossom Classic Kicks Off Labor Day Weekend
The college football season kicks off in Miami Gardens at the 2024 Denny’s Orange Blossom Classic, at the Hard Rock Stadium. This eagerly awaited game, taking place on September 1, promises a captivating showdown between two of the premier Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) in the country: the Alabama State University Hornets and the North Carolina Central University Eagles. More than just a game, this event stands as a vibrant celebration of HBCU excellence, marked by a full weekend of events, spirited pageantry, and a profound display of HBCU pride. From tailgate parties and lively parades to alumni gatherings and cultural showcases, the event will be a dynamic and unforgettable tribute to the rich traditions and spirited communities of HBCUs.

Miccosukee Celebrates American Indian Day

Save the Date - Miami Carnival on Columbus Day Weekend
Welcome to Miami Carnival, the ultimate cultural experience that combines the various elements of Carnival with the beauty of Miami over Columbus Day Weekend. One of the biggest celebrations of Caribbean culture on the globe (and the biggest in the U.S.), this multi-day event takes place in both Broward and Miami-Dade county with weekend festivities culminating at the Miami-Dade County Fairgrounds on October 13. Looking Ahead! Celebrate Orgullo!
Celebrate Orgullo, the first Hispanic and Indigenous LGBTQ+ festival in Greater Miami & Miami Beach, returns for its 14th edition from October 1-14. This vibrant event is the perfect way to honor National Hispanic Heritage Month while celebrating the area's rich diversity and history as an LGBTQ+ haven. Recognized in 2021 by TripSavvy as one of the top 13 most unique LGBTQ+ events worldwide, Celebrate Orgullo (Spanish for "pride") is an experience not to be missed.

Miami Bayside Foundation Small Business Graduation

Congratulations to the twenty-four small businesses who recently graduated and completed the Miami Bayside Small Business Entrepreneurship Summer Training. The businesses participated in a 16-day online workshop led by industry experts to assist business owners in sharpening their entrepreneurial skills while learning how to prepare to access capital. Petra Brennan, Senior Director of Tourism Business Enhancement with the Multicultural Tourism & Development was in attendance and extended well wishes to the graduates. The Miami Bayside Small Business Entrepreneurship training is supported by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau’s Tourism Business Enhancement Initiative with the mission to advocate, support, and strengthen the economic sustainability and access of multicultural communities and heritage-related businesses within the Greater Miami & Miami Beach. Art of Black Miami: Celebrating Arts Culture and Diversity During Miami Art Week & Beyond
Over the past decade, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau’s (GMCVB) Art of Black Miami has spotlighted both emerging and established Black diaspora artists and their impact on Miami's vibrant cultural scene. Celebrate our 10th anniversary by submitting your upcoming exhibitions or art events to the GMCVB Art of Black Miami Calendar of Events. If your event showcases the arts, culture, and diversity of Greater Miami and Miami Beach, we invite you to submit it for global promotion during Miami Art Week and beyond. Submit here by Monday, October 7. Final content approval is at the discretion of the GMCVB.

Congratulations Draeden Ramsey!

The Black Hospitatliy Initiative (BHI) Scholarship Committee is thrilled to announce that Draeden Ramsey, a BHI Scholar attending Florida Memorial University, has successfully passed the Air Traffic Skills Assessment (ATSA)! The ATSA is a rigorous entry-level assessment that evaluates the essential skills and attributes needed to become a successful air traffic controller at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). After passing the ATSA, Draeden received an offer from the FAA for a trainee position! We are so proud of Draeden's achievement and excited to see him advance in his career path. The 45th Hemispheric Congress of Latin Chambers of Commerce and Industry

The Latin Chamber of Commerce of the United States (CAMACOL) hosts the 45th Annual Hemispheric Congress of Latin Chambers of Commerce and Industry at the Miami Beach Convention Center on September 16-18. This is where business leaders, medical professionals, and small businesses, and representatives from the food & beverage sector meet to develop the latest tools in their respective industries, and network to develop new market opportunities. Network with representatives and professionals from the domestic and international marketplace. Find Your Voice Campaign Wins Destiny Award

The Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau's Find Your Voice campaign received top honors as Best Digital and Social Media Campaign at U.S. Travel’s prestigious Destiny Awards for marketing and promotion. Developed in collaboration with Sony Music Latin America and the City of Miami Beach, this winning campaign highlighted leading performers from Miami-Dade, whose artistry is deeply influenced by the area's rich cultural diversity. Focused primarily on Instagram, the campaign has reached 1.57 million Instagram accounts and generated 2.23 million impressions to date.
