Hello everyone:
As we continue to move (rapidly it seems) into the second half of the calendar year, I wanted to update you on how we are pacing in terms of the key barometer of hotel metrics (an important gauge of our overall destination).
We now have received national and comparative data on hotel performance through July and as a result, we can now review year-to-date data for the first seven months of the year.
As illustrated in the charts following, our hotels reported a year-to-date average occupancy of 76.8% reflecting a year-over-prior-year increase of 3.7%. This ranks us fourth highest among the top 25 largest destinations throughout the United States. This momentum has allowed us to improve upon our seventh place ranking at this time a year ago.
It's also interesting to note that there were declines in year-to-date occupancy in 13 of the 25 destinations...
