What's New
Autism Acceptance Month
April used to be known as Autism Awareness Month. But in 2021, the designation changed to Autism Acceptance Month. It primarily focuses on raising awareness, promoting understanding, and advocating for the rights and inclusion of individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). It celebrates the unique perspectives, strengths, and contributions of individuals with autism and serves as a platform to promote acceptance, support, and appreciation for neurodiversity within society. By fostering a culture of inclusion and celebrating neurodiversity, we can create a more compassionate and supportive world for autistic individuals and their families. In recognition of Autism Acceptance Month, the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is now a Certified Autism Center™(CAC), a designation granted by the International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards (IBCCES).
