This past week was a wonderful example of the collective effort of representing our amazing destination for both stimulating leisure travel, meetings and conventions. Our convention sales and service team along with our international-focused travel industry sales and marketing communications teams all participated in the Florida Huddle and Florida Encounter trade show at the Miami Beach Convention Center. Both shows are produced by Visit Florida in partnership with all of Visit Florida’s destination marketing organizations, hotels and venues.
Florida Huddle is Visit Florida’s flagship international travel show and gathered 177 tour operators and travel planners primarily from Canada, Mexico, South America and Europe. Florida Encounter is Visit Florida’s leading meetings and conventions trade show hosting 98 meeting planners and decision makers from throughout the United States.
Thirty-seven of our local partner members ─ from some of our largest hotels to smaller boutique properties ─ exhibited and conducted appointments alongside your GMCVB sales teams including 26 for the leisure and tour operator appointments and 11 hotel partners for the convention and meeting focused appointments. The result is dozens of new sales leads from both key groups that will influence and build upon future travel and meetings hosted here for many years to come.
