This newsletter consists of GMCVB collaborations, business relief efforts and resources available on a local and national level. Lunar New Year
Celebrate Black History Month in Greater Miami & Miami Beach
Join the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) as we celebrate Black History Month, an annual celebration of achievements by Black Americans and Black Culture in the U.S and in Miami-Dade. The GMCVB has a dedicated section highlighting some of the best events celebrating Black History Month. We encourage visitors and residents to immerse yourself in music, food, dance, history and art throughout the destination. The Miami-Dade County Black Affairs Advisory Board (BAAB) also has a listing of community events paying homage to the African American Diaspora for Black History Month. Get ready to jazz it up from February 22-25 at the 27th annual Melton Mustafa Jazz Festival held at the Black Archives Historic Lyric Theater in Historic Overtown. Muhammad Ali Historical Timeline

Join the Washington Avenue Business Improvement District (BID) in commemorating the 60th Anniversary of Muhammad Ali's inaugural Heavyweight title triumph over Sonny Liston—a historic moment that unfolded right on Washington Avenue. To pay tribute to Ali's unparalleled legacy, the Washington Avenue BID, in collaboration with HistoryMiami Museum, presents the Muhammad Ali Historical Timeline. Small Business Training Graduates
Enroll Now! Miami Bayside Foundation Small Business Training

Enrollment for the Miami Bayside Foundation's Small Business Workshop is now open! The program runs from February 27 through March 28.  The 16-session online workshop is geared towards helping business owners sharpen their entrepreneurial skills while learning how to prepare to access capital. Participating small businesses will complete workshop training led by industry professionals. The program is supported by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau's Tourism Business Enhancement Initiative with the mission to advocate, support, and strengthen the economic sustainability and access of multicultural communities and heritage-related businesses within the Greater Miami & Miami Beach as part of the efforts of the Multicultural Tourism & Development Department. The Wolfsonian - Florida International University Presents Silhouettes: Image and Word in the Harlem Renaissance
The flourishing of literary, visual, and musical arts between the 1920s and '40s known as the Harlem Renaissance projected a new picture of Black life to the world.  On display at Florida International University's The Wolfsonian through June, Silhouettes: Image and Word in the Harlem Renaissance shows how artists associated with the movement asserted pride in black life and identity, a rising consciousness of inequality and discrimination, and interest in the rapidly changing modern world.

Black Hospitality Initiative Education Career Tour at Miami International Airport
 
The Greater Miami Convention & Visitor Bureau's (GMCVB) Black Hospitality Initiative (BHI) and Miami International Airport (MIA) Protocol & International Affairs Division partnered to host an educational tour and seminar held at MIA for over forty students attending Booker T. Washington Senior High School's Academy of Hospitality and Tourism, Future Leaders of Hospitality and Tourism, a youth organization in Historic Overtown and Liberty City and BHI Scholarship recipients enrolled in Aviation Administration at Florida Memorial University and Miami Dade College. There was an outstanding workshop/seminar on career opportunities in the aviation sector. The workshop was followed by a dynamic Open Forum and Q&A with the students.
