Message From the President & CEO
What's Happening

Hello everyone,

This week I want to shine a light on the GMCVB’s efforts in supporting the economic sustainability of small business and the role they play in the success of our destination.
 
Greater Miami and Miami Beach is consistently ranked as one of the top areas in the country for small business growth. Indeed, a majority of our travel and tourism businesses are small and many are minority-owned. They are the bedrock of our community and valued job creators fueling our economy.

Travel promotion plays an important role in their sustainability, stimulating their growth by generating visitor demand, creating opportunity in our diverse neighborhoods and making our destination even more vibrant and attractive.

As I write this, we’re celebrating the value and viability of Miami-Dade’s multi-billion-dollar Black-owned businesses at our annual Partner Expo at Jungle Island. Throughout August, in partnership with Miami-Dade’s Economic Advocacy Trust and its Executive Director Bill Diggs, we hosted a variety of events, seminars and more shining a spotlight on National Black Business Month.
 
Our Tourism Business Enhancement (TBE) program, in conjunction with the Miami Bayside Foundation, graduated its most recent Small Business Training class and launches its next 14-session program in September. TBE supports and strengthens the economic sustainability of our small and...
