Trio of Miami Temptations Programs
Greater Miami & Miami Beach heats up in August with a trio of irresistible Miami Temptations programs. Miami Spice Restaurant Months, Miami Spa Months and Miami Hotel Months coincide to create one of the best times of the year to enjoy Miami at an unbeatable value. For foodies, Miami Spice means special three-course menus at participating restaurants priced at $30 or $35 for lunch and brunch and $45 or $60 for dinner. Looking Ahead! The Orange Blossom Classic Returns to Miami Labor Day Weekend
The Orange Blossom Classic Committee and the City of Miami Gardens will host the historic football game and weekend activities. The 49th Annual Orange Blossom Classic, featuring Florida A&M University against Jackson State University, is scheduled to take place at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens on September 3.

Black Pepper Food Festival 
Celebrate Black culture and cuisine at the 3rd annual Black Pepper Food Festival on August 26. Presented by the Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, this not-to-be-missed food festival supports Black-owned restaurants and food trucks by providing a platform to increase exposure. While you’re there, check out the mouthwatering offerings from participating Miami-Dade based brick and mortar restaurants. Participating restaurant list to be announced. Enjoy this full day festival merging African Diaspora cuisine, music, art and overall cultural resonance..

Gonzalo Roig's  Cecilia Valdés
Come experience an afternoon of Cuban zarzuela with a presentation of Cecilia Valdés at Miami-Dade County Auditorium on August 27. The performance features music composed by Gonzalo Roig and performed by the Florida Chamber Orchestra. Based on the novel by Cirilo Villaverde, it is considered to be one of the first Cuban novels. Villaverde's work depicts the interaction of classes and races in Havana, Cuba. Click here for more details.

Art of Black Miami Nate Dee Natura Sound Marriott
Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay Unveiled Commissioned Mural Installation From Miami Contemporary Artist Nate Dee

The Miami Marriott Biscayne Bay revealed its partnership with Miami contemporary artist Nate Dee, unveiling the outdoor mural, Natura Sound. The artistic installation showcases the rich flora and fauna of the South Florida landscape. The mural features a striking blend of vibrant colors and local iconography.  Born and raised in South Florida and of Haitian descent, Nate Dee is a trained artist whose large-scale murals and other work have been seen throughout Miami-Dade County. Young Business Man
Entrepreneurs Access Network  - Applications are Open

The Ernst & Young (EY) Entrepreneurs Access Network (EAN) is now accepting applications for the 2024 cohort - a 12-month business accelerator program and evergreen community to help Black and Latino owned companies bridge the disparity gap and grow their businesses. Last year’s cohort benefited from 3,325 mentor hours and 400 one-on-one business-building meetings via various networking events and community sessions.  Applications are open through August 31.

DanceAfrica Miami presents Connectivity

A world class international celebration of dance, drum, music, and culture. Featuring renowned native Artists from Guinea, Senegal, Mali, Ivory Coast, Haiti, and Cuba. DanceAfrica Miami's Connectivity is a cultural arts destination held August 4-6 and is set to be an exceptionally high-spirited, three-day family-friendly, multicultural arts, and educational event. Black Hospitality Initiative Scholarships Awarded

The Black Hospitality Initiative (BHI) awarded eight new and continuing scholarships to students attending Florida International University, Miami Dade College, and St. Thomas University. Students will pursue, continue, and complete studies and degrees in Event Planning, Culinary Arts Management, Aviation Administration, Hospitality Leadership, and Sports Management. 46th Annual Teamsters National Black Caucus Educational Conference and Banquet

Miami, the birthplace of the Teamsters National Black Caucus (TNBC), welcomes the TNBC Educational Conference and Banquet. The event will be held August 15-20 at the Hyatt Regency Miami. It will be a week of camaraderie as they celebrate their founding leaders and educate the leaders of tomorrow. Florida International University Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management
Funds to support Florida International University’s Chaplin School of Hospitality &  Tourism Management

Vida & Estilo, a national restaurant and hotel group based in Miami, is establishing two new funds to support student success and educational programming at the Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management at Florida International University (FIU). The company is led by CEO, owner and FIU alumnus Matias Pesce, who graduated from FIU in 2018.  The Vida & Estilo Hospitality Program Fund will help create and build out training and programming to elevate the skill level of both executive leadership teams and emerging leaders in the hospitality industry. Complementing this fund, the Vida & Estilo Student Support Fund will foster student enrichment and experiences that include scholarships, stipends and student programming.
