Celebrating the destination’s rich neighborhoods, Miami Arts, Culture & Heritage Months places a spotlight on the culturally diverse communities. Greater Miami and the Beaches is providing locals and visitors with pleasing ways to experience and immerse themselves in the destination’s cultural gems, including special offers from museums, theaters, art exhibits, art galleries and more.

Human Rights Day
 
Human Rights Day is observed every year on December 10 — the day the United Nations General Assembly adopted, in 1948, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR). The UDHR is a milestone document, which proclaims the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. Available in more than 500 languages, it is the most translated document in the world.

Art of Black Miami Spans Beyond Miami Art Week
 
Art of Black Miami 2022 highlighted the artistic and cultural landscape found in Miami's heritage neighborhoods and communities for another Art Week Basel Season. Exhibitions, fairs, art talks, performances and events were well represented in neighborhoods such as Historic Overtown, Little Haiti, Little Havana, Opa Locka, North Miami, The Airport Area, Design District, Downtown Miami, Miami Beach and South Dade.  While most of the shows ended at the close of Miami Art Week, there is still an opportunity to see some held over exhibitions which will run through the coming months. Miccosukee Indian Arts & Crafts Festival
 
Immerse yourself in Native American culture with a three-day gathering in the heart of the Florida Everglades December 29-31.  The Miccosukee Indian Arts and Crafts Festival will feature indigenous music and dance performances, an artisan market featuring crafts and authentic cuisine, and alligator handling demonstrations.

Council of Urban Boards of Education Annual Conference
 
The Council of Urban Boards of Education (CUBE) will host its premier annual conference on December 8-10 at the Intercontinental Hotel in Downtown Miami. This year's keynote speaker is Reverend Nontombi Naomi Tutu, Race & Gender Justice Activist and daughter of Archbishop Desmond Tutu. CUBE creates educational opportunities for urban school board leaders to gain the knowledge and skills necessary to serve as effective local education policymakers and as advocates for equity in public education.

Nu Deco Ensemble Featuring Wyclef Jean

Join Nu Deco Ensemble, on December 10,  at the Arsht Center for a dynamic, collaborative performance.  Joining them is the Haitian-born, multi-Grammy-winning artist Wyclef Jean.  In addition, Nu Deco will welcome internationally acclaimed and Grammy Award-nominated pianist Terrence Wilson.
