Miami Spice Restaurant Months and Miami Hotel Months Continue
 
Tease your senses and enjoy the best hotel accommodations and dining that Miami has to offer! Miami Spice Restaurant Months runs through September 30. Participating restaurants are offering $28 brunch, lunch and $43 dinner menus. And why not plan a staycation? You deserve one! Miami Hotel Months also continues with participating hotels offering special discounts such as discounted stays, resort credits, complimentary meals and more, through end of September. The 15th Annual Best of the Best Music Fest Returns to Miami
 
The Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau invites everyone to attend the Best of the Best Music Fest as it celebrates its 15th Annual concert on Sunday, October 10th at Miami’s Bayfront Park. One of South Florida’s highly anticipated and highly attended Caribbean stage shows, this festival hosts Dancehall, and Reggae artists, including Koffee, Spice, Lady G, Tanya Stephens and more. The GMCVB is a proud sponsor of this annual heritage festival that continues to be a rich cultural backdrop of the cultural diversity Miami has to offer to positively highlight the Caribbean music influences that are uniquely Found in Miami. The GMCVB Family proudly welcomes David Whitaker as President & CEO.  We are excited to have him back where he was once part of the GMCVB team from 1990-2007, most recently serving as CMO and Executive Vice President. Prior to rejoining the GMCVB, her served as President & CEO of Choose Chicago and Tourism Toronto and served five years with the United Way of Miami-Dade.  His experience and leadership in attracting major convention groups, special events and international group and leisure business will serve Greater miami and Miami Beach in our tourism and meetings convention efforts.  Please join us in welcoming David back home!

Miami Bayside Foundation Hosts 2nd Spanish Small Business Entrepreneurial Training
 
After a successful launch of their Spanish Small Business Training over the summer, the Miami Bayside Foundation is hosting their second training program in Spanish beginning on September 14th  and running through October 6th.  The businesses enrolled in the program will receive training in topics such as Digital Marketing, Accounting & Financial Projections, Legal and Small Business Certification all taught by industry experts. The Miami Bayside Foundation (MBF) Small Business training is supported by various partners including the GMCVB’s Multicultural Tourism & Development Department.

Nuestro Fest - Live from Miami!
 
Atlantino and Brilla Media will produce Nuestro Fest, a National Hispanic Heritage Month-themed virtual festival that will be hosted live from Miami October 2nd from 8-10pm EST, on national broadcast TV and through various streamers and online platforms.  The two-hour broadcast and live stream experience will feature a jam-packed line-up of iconic and emerging Latin music artists, celebrity co-hosts, a fashion show, mixology segments, fashion, Latino culinary recipes, and other creative surprises. The 37th Annual Miami Carnival Set to Restart on Columbus Day Weekend
 
The Miami Broward One Carnival Host Committee (MBOCHC) and the South Florida Carnival Bandleaders Association have announced that they will host the 37th annual Miami Carnival cultural festival on Columbus Day weekend, October 10th. After working with county medical and park department officials in Miami-Dade and Broward County, the producers of the Miami Carnival have been given the green light to advance planning for the 2021 Miami Carnival celebrations. With guest safety as the highest priority, the Miami Broward Carnival One Host Committee (MBOCHC) will promote and implement an event plan of reduced capacity in adherence with recommended CDC COVID guidelines. As part of a continuation of year-round programming that showcases the diversity of visual arts celebrating the black diaspora, Art of Black Miami podcast series continues to highlight Miami-based artists. The monthly podcast which began April 2021 introduces one artist each month as they share their experiences and artistic expression influenced by Miami’s cultural landscape.  The new summer series will culminate on September 20th with renowned artist Robert McKnight however the podcast will be a mainstay as part of our annual summer programming. Miami-Dade County and City of Miami are working with The Miami Foundation to provide local residents and small businesses access to career development and business resources via a newly launched LaborMiami.org portal. This robust resource will serve as a career development resource providing students, job seekers, entrepreneurs and employers with free access to the tools, training and information they need to build successful careers.

Miami Bayside Foundation Small Business Training is now accepting applications for the Fall Small Business Training.  This free training is open to entrepreneurs seeking to take their small businesses to the next level. Small Business owners interested in applying must be an active business in operation for a minimum of six months, at least 51% minority-owned, and located in Miami-Dade County. All participating travel advisors are graduates of the Greater Miami & Miami Beach Travel Specialist Program. The ABTP was created in 2020 to enhance the Business Development of travel professionals of color and to be the premiere organization providing industry certification, education, advocacy and networking opportunities to the Black travel professional community.
