Register Now for the Hybrid GMCVB 2020 Annual Meeting
 
The GMCVB 2020 Annual Meeting will take place both virtually and in person on October 21 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the reimagined Grand Ballroom at the Miami Beach Convention Center.  Featured Speakers include Bruce Orosz - Chairman of the Board, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau and William D. Talbert, III, CDME - President & CEO, Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau. Learn about new GMCVB tourism recovery initiatives and outlooks for travel and tourism recovery.

Miami Beach Convention Center Campus tours will be offered post-meeting for those attending in person. The MBCC was awarded GBAC STAR Facility Accreditation providing comprehensive cleaning and disinfection protocols with third-party validation and participates in the City of Miami Beach’s MB Standard as well as following all CDC Health & Safety Guidelines. All participants attending will be subject to a temperature screening and facial coverings will be required throughout the entire event.

New Art Deco Studio Unveiled at the Miami Beach Convention Center 
 
The Miami Beach Convention Center (MBCC) has unveiled its new Art Deco Studio, developed in partnership with Everlast Productions and Smart City Networks to support the production of hybrid events at the reimagined venue. Hybrid events combine socially distanced in-person gatherings with HD video and live webstream technology to create a seamless experience for viewers and participants, while preserving venue health and safety measures to deliver engaging, unforgettable experiences to audiences around the world in real-time or on-demand. FPL and FR&LA offer Energy Saving Webinar  
 
Florida Power & Light Company (FPL) and the Florida Restaurant & Lodging Association (FR&LA) have partnered on a free webinar to help businesses find ways to save costs during the pandemic. On October 22 from 10:30-11:30 a.m. FPL’s Director of Major & Governmental Accounts, Andy Marin will share how increasing your “Energy IQ” can increase your savings; understanding smart energy usage during the pandemic; and FPL’s free resources, solutions and more. GMBHA Holds Market Data Webinar
 
The Greater Miami and the Beaches Hotel Association (GMBHA) in partnership with Hospitality Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) South Florida and HSMAI Central Florida will be conducting a business webinar on October 22. Bennjin Lao, STR Business Development Executive, will be guest presenter speaking on relevant market data. AUDACITY Fest Goes Digital
 
AUDACITY Fest, a festival for travelers of color and allies bringing stories, leaders, resources and community together will hold their virtual event this year on October 24. This festival is a safe space for black and brown travelers from around the world, to build ideas, meet travel influencers, and experience different parts of the world. This year AUDACITY will include panels, fireside chats, international music and DJs, celebrity appearances, and retail vendors.  Click here for more information.
 
 
 
 
Green Space Miami Announces Open Call
 
Green Space Miami, the new art space for the Green Family Foundation has launched its inaugural initiative which will begin working with local artists unable to exhibit or teach, as a result of the pandemic. Guided by the Foundation’s principles of community empowerment and education, Green Space Miami centers marginalized stories, hosted in a space for inclusion and dialogue. The initiative is an open call for BIPoC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) artists based in Miami and will grant $5,000 each to ten visual artists selected by an advisory committee of leaders.
