Florida Grand Opera Launches ‘FGO GO’ Virtual Opera Experience

Every week, opera lovers can settle in to enjoy a little bit of opera courtesy of Florida Grand Opera's (@FGOpera) new online programming, newly designated as FGO GO. Bringing the magic of opera direct to patrons, the company is creating a wealth of content to help opera lovers, families, teachers, and students enjoy all aspects of opera including highlights from Rigoletto and El Matrimonio Secreto (The Secret Marriage) - from the safety and comfort at home. FGO GO launched on April 2, 2020, with the first video in a series of recorded concerts featuring the company's emerging artists performing highlights from Verdi's Rigoletto. Cimarosa's El Matrimonio Secreto highlights launch on April 16, 2020. Both productions had to be postponed and rescheduled due to the current COVID-19 pandemic causing the closures of the Adrienne Arsht Center, Broward Center, and Miami-Dade County Auditorium where both productions were scheduled to perform. Additional programming will include "Singers' Choice," which features each emerging artist performing an aria that inspired who they are as an artist. A concert of "Art Song," written for solo voice and piano, giving participants an intimate view into a composers' music. These songs bring a melody to famous and obscure texts that compelled the composer to set them to music. Finally, nothing hits closer to home in South Florida than the ever-popular "Zarzuela," giving viewers tunes of popular Spanish dramas. To join FGO GO, sign-up here. There is no cost to join, just enjoy opera wherever you go! You can also subscribe to the FGO YouTube Channel for the latest video uploads, playlists, interviews, and other exclusive content.
