| Greater Miami's leisure & hospitality jobs increased +2.9%, resulting in an increase of 4,300 jobs in December 2019 compared to the same period in 2018. This demonstrates the continued strength of the destination's travel and tourism industry in generating local jobs that can lead to great careers. |

| City of Miami Beach Creates South Beach BID |
| |
| The Miami Beach City Commission voted unanimously this week to create a “South Beach Business Improvement District (BID),” which will form a special assessment area for a term of 10 years to improve the historic Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue retail business districts. The BID will include approximately 221 properties — 87 folios on Ocean Drive and 133 folios on Collins Avenue. The assessment levied on these properties will provide security, sanitation, cultural activations and other services on Ocean Drive and Collins Avenue. |

| Super Bowl LIVE Presented by VERIZON at Bayfront Park |
| |
| Bayfront Park is excited to celebrate Super Bowl LIVE from January 25 to February 1. This will be the first time that visitors and the community at large will have the opportunity to celebrate all things Super Bowl at a free and open to the public event in Downtown Miami. The fan festival will feature evening concerts at the Amphitheater, a Huddle Down Community Stage, Road to the 11th Super Bowl activation, Tailgate Town featuring a Culinary stage, an Environmental Village, live water shows, evening parades, fireworks and much more. The Evening Concerts at the Amphitheater will include JPerry, Walshy’s Fire Miami Orchestra featuring Nu Deco Ensemble, and Domino Saints. For more information, click here. |

| Super Bowl Experience Presented by Lowe's in the Miami Beach Convention Center |

| Starting on January 25 and running through February 1, the interactive theme park celebrates Super Bowl LIV by allowing fans to participate in immersive exhibits and games, take photos with the Vince Lombardi Trophy and collect free autographs from NFL players and Hall of Famers. | Tech Talk: Pro-Athlete to Investor |

| Presented by the Miami Downtown Development Authority and the Knight Foundation, Tech Talk: Pro Athlete to Investor will take place on January 29 from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Phillip & Patricia Frost Museum of Science. The panel discussion will be comprised of former professional athletes who have transitioned into successful venture capitalists and real estate investors. Also featured is 500 Startups’ Miami manager, Miguel Cruz. As a member of a successful and thriving venture capital firm in Downtown, Miguel will share his insight about the landscape of tech in the region, as well as provide insights on opportunities. | GMCVB Communications Team will be front and center, showcasing the destination in front of an audience of 6,000 journalists from around the world, at the media center at the Miami Beach Convention Center, January 26-February 1. The Team will be onsite at the Miami booth to provide media with information about the destination and to facilitate media interviews. Food presentations will showcase our diverse neighborhoods; a “Caja China” representing Little Havana, seafood from South Beach, BBQ from South Dade and Haitian cuisine from Little Haiti. |

| Joe Docal, Director of Travel Industry Sales attended the New York Times Travel Show at the Jacob K. Javits Center in New York City, NY USA on January 24 - 26, 2020. The New York Times Travel Show attracts more than 35,000 attendees with over 700 exhibitors from more than 175 countries, making it the largest travel trade and consumer show in North America. The GMCVB traveled with a delegation of Partners including the JW Marriott Miami Turnberry, Fairwind Hotel Miami Beach and The Guild. |
