The 43rd Annual MLK Day Parade & Family Festival
 
On January 20, the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Parade & Festivities Committee, a nonprofit corporation headquartered in Miami, invites everyone to attend the 43rd Annual MLK Day Parade & Family Festival from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on NW 54th Street and 10th Avenue to 32nd Avenue with the festival being held at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Park located at 6000 NW 32nd Court. The GMCVB’s Multicultural Tourism & Development Team is a proud collaborating sponsor of this event. For more information, please click here.

GMCVB Supports the 56th Anniversary of the National Association of Television Program Executives Conference & Exhibition
 
The 56th Anniversary of the National Association of Television Program Executives (NATPE) Conference & Exhibition will be held on Miami Beach January 21-23. This year marks the 10th Anniversary in which NATPE has been held in Greater Miami. GMCVB Sports & Entertainment Team is organizing the welcome reception networker event for key NATPE executives and conference participants at the Fontainebleau Miami Beach on January 20. Co-hosting the welcome reception will be Miami-Dade County, City of Miami Beach, Miami-Dade Office of Film and Entertainment, CAMACOL and Film Florida.

GMCVB President & CEO to Attend Florida Tourism Day in Tallahassee
 
GMCVB President & CEO William D. Talbert III, CDME will be among the many members from the destination marketing industry attending Florida Tourism Day on January 22 in Tallahassee. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet with Florida legislators to highlight the importance of tourism to Florida’s economy and to emphasize the importance of public funding for tourism marketing.

GMCVB President & CEO to be Featured Guest on "Eat This, Drink That, Go"
 
GMCVB President & CEO William D. Talbert III, CDME and GMCVB Chairman Bruce Orosz will be featured guests at the taping of the "Eat This, Drink That, Go" radio/TV show with Jimmy Cefalo on January 21. The taping will take place at Hard Rock Stadium where Super Bowl LIV will be televised all over the world on Sunday, February 2. The main topic of discussion will be THE BIG GAME. “Eat This, Drink That, Go” is a show dedicated to spreading information about great food, wine, spirits and travel. The radio and television show is owned, hosted, and produced by Jimmy Cefalo and Brenda Bassett and can be heard and/or watched on WIOD610 AM, iHeartRadio, The Beach Channel and Facebook Live.

GMCVB Communications Team Unveils MIAMILAND - Outdoor Adventures Campaign - at the New York Boat Show
 
GMCVB Communications Team will pull back the curtain on January 22 at the New York Boat Show to reveal its new action-adventure theme park called MIAMILAND. The light-hearted and covert operation is an extension to the existing Found In Miami campaign by the GMCVB. The creative execution for MIAMILAND is designed to create intrigue and increase excitement for an action-adventure theme-park filled with adventure and natural wonders. The revelation shows the “theme park” is actually Greater Miami’s immense footprint, home to these natural assets organically situated to provide access for authentic action adventures. The Found In Miami messaging will be expanded to include the GMCVB’s new MIAMILAND outdoor adventurers campaign which will highlight Miami’s unexpected nature experiences through high-impact videos, imagery, and digital experiences.

GMCVB Communications Team members Jennifer Diaz and Suzie Sponder will attend the TravMedia Summit and IMM (International Media Marketplace), January 22-24 in New York, New York USA. In addition to participating in the Summit, the GMCVB will have a dedicated branded table to meet and network with top travel journalists, editors and broadcasters to discuss news, events and developments in the destination.

GMCVB to Host Ribbon-Cutting for Biscayne Gardens Chamber and Visitor Center
 
The GMCVB in partnership with the Biscayne Gardens Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon-cutting for the new Biscayne Gardens Chamber & Visitor Center on January 24 at 9:00am. The new visitor center joins other visitor centers found throughout Greater Miami and the Beaches that offer our visitors information, maps, brochures, guides and tips of places to enjoy and discover during their visit to our community.

GMCVB Sports & Entertainment Team Promotes Local Film Incentive During Sundance Film Festival
 
The GMCVB will participate in Sundance 2020 which offers the opportunity for our local film office partners to meet with film industry professionals and educate them on the local film incentives. The GMCVB and the Miami-Dade Film Office will host the invitation only networking lounge January 25-27. Attendees will be educated on available stackable local film incentives and receive the Miami Film Incentive postcards.

GMCVB President & CEO William D. Talbert III, CDME will be among those attending the 27th Annual Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Unity Scholarship Breakfast to benefit the 5000 Role Models of Excellence Project founded by Congresswoman Frederica Wilson. The event will be held on Monday, January 20, at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Miami Airport & Convention Center. The event honors standout scholars, who will be presented with their 5000 Role Models of Excellence medal by their mentors, to a room full of more than 2,000 people, including elected officials and community business leaders.

GMCVB Communications Team will attend and meet with press at Fitur, an international tourism trade fair in Madrid, Spain January 22-26. FITUR is a global meeting point for tourism professionals and the leading trade fair for inbound and outbound Ibero American markets. In 2019, more than 8,400 journalists from 165 countries turned out to the international tourism tradeshow, a turnout that demonstrates the importance of FITUR on the international circuit of tourism sector events.
